A quarterly artist(s) exhibitions at Peace in Movement

Our Current Feature:

Brianna Pippens

Brianna Pippens is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Silver Spring, Maryland. Working across illustration, painting, and fiber art, her practice centers stylized portraits and figures that explore identity, nostalgia, community, and the everyday experiences of Black life. Known for her bold colors, expressive forms, and textured surfaces, Brianna often blends traditional illustration with tactile processes such as punch needle to bring her imagery into dimensional form.

Her work has been exhibited throughout the Washington, DC and Maryland art scene and beyond, including shows with Black Girl Art Show, Shop Made in DC, and Girls Who Paint. Brianna’s public art includes murals and installations such as In Harmony at NOMA Mural Fest in Washington, DC and Soulful Panes in Wheaton, Maryland, as well as work presented through regional arts initiatives.

In addition to exhibitions and public art, Brianna has collaborated with organizations and brands on illustration, design, and community-focused creative projects. Through her practice, she creates work that celebrates individuality, reflection, and the layered experiences that shape identity.
